Βeta-NAD+ is a critical coenzyme which is found in every cell of the human body and is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes. However, β-NAD+ levels fall as people age.
Beta-NAD+ plays an important part in two basic sectors in the human body:
- it assists in converting nutrients into energy as a basic agent of metabolism

Beta-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (beta-NAD+) plays an important part as a coagent and mobile electron acceptor. Beta-NAD+ is a necessary oxidation substrate for many enzymes. It converts to NADH, which transfers electrons for subsequent oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Beta-NAD+ is able to donate sections of ADP-ribose to a protein, nicotinamide agent, during the process. Sirtuin enzymes use beta-NAD+ as a substrate for protein deacetylation and in order to direct activity between the nucleus and mitochondria. Beta-NAD+ is reproduced endogenously by fermentation and oxidative phosphorylation.
